You Tube Video!?!
When I watched the video in the begging it was sort of confusing because all it showed was a girl. When I saw all the pictures I then realized that it was showing how the media portrays and corrupts the minds of other people mainly young people by showing models and famous people and letting them know new diets, and weight loss programs. Many people see others and think that they are not good enough so they force them selves to throw up or become anorexic, these people try to be someone else just to impress people , or make them selves feel better. I think that people should learn to like you for who you are and it doesn't matter what your skin color is or your size or your eye color or any other features about you. Who you are is who you are. I don't think you have to change your appearance just to impress someone.
Seminar #1
This seminar was very interesting to me. We started off by talking about the four cardinal virtues, those are Prudence, Fortitude, Temperance, and Justice. The main one that we showed more focus on was Justice. Many times in our discussion people brought up Eye of the beholder. We came up with some of our own virtues.
Many thoughts were said on how people were deciding on how far an apology could go because if the same person came up to you and said sorry, and you always for gave them you would seem like somewhat of a pushover.

Women In Ancient Greece
How did women's roles in society differ from Athens and Sparta?
Women's roles in Athens were that they would always serve the men. They weren't that high up in class, and unlike Spartan women they weren't expected to learn how to read or write. Spartan women had more of a larger role and weren't so low down in class. Women in Athens were only a little bit higher in class compared to the slaves.
If the Greeks are considered so advanced, so culturally elite, why do you believe gender equality (equality between men and women) was not established?
I think that since things were mainly run by men and women didn't really have a say. Men in that era were just probably seen as being more dominant so they saw it as that the men should always decide what would be going on.

SOCRATES' CAFE
What is so beautiful about youth?
What is beautiful about youth is so beautiful is because they always are willing to attempt and try new things. They always have things to look forward and have a long journey ahead of them. I see youth being beautiful because they encounter great things and new challenges in their life.

I decided to choose this picture in specific because every time that I hear the waves break it is a soothing sound to me. The reason why I think that it represents beauty is because they don't just come in one same form, like beauty it is not always in one certain way. It comes in different shapes sizes and colors.
I chose this picture of different flags because to me beauty is not just shown through one race or person. It doesn't matter what race you come from because some cultures see beauty differently then what others might. People can sometimes be judged by what types of clothing they wear or what their appearance in general looks like. I think that this is how the world is like today where people are being judged by what you look like.
